The research focuses on acoustic formation of cell spheroids, a type of three-dimensional cell modeling that better simulate a live cell's environmental conditions compared to a two-dimensional cell model. The findings have broad implications for tissue engineering and 3D bioprinting.
Tue, 20 Sep 2022 23:08:02 +0000 Biomedical Engineering 1118 at /bbme Student Profile: Emilie Palisaitis, M.Eng '19 (BBME) /bbme/article/student-profile-emilie-palisaitis-meng-19-bbme
Emilie Palisaitis is a graduate of the Master's program in Biological & Biomedical Engineering (BBME), having been supervised by Prof. Ahmad Haidar.

Following her graduate studies, Emilie was accepted to Medical School at ÎÛÎÛ²ÝÝ®ÊÓƵ, receiving the Anjna & Jogindar Majhail Scholarship as an outstanding student entering first year Medicine who demonstrates academic excellence.

We asked Emilie a few questions about her student experience, her hopes for the future, and what makes ÎÛÎÛ²ÝÝ®ÊÓƵ special:
Tue, 20 Sep 2022 23:24:00 +0000 Biomedical Engineering 1119 at /bbme The 2021 BBME Symposium /bbme/article/2021-bbme-symposium

On May 5-6, 2021, the BBME Student Council (pictured above) hosted the 2021 Biological and Biomedical Engineering Symposium, a bi-annual event which provides students an opportunity to showcase their work to peers, faculty, and invited guests.
