This workshop will provide an introduction to the fundamentals of causal inference, and emphasize the limitations of some common statistical techniques for uncovering causal relationships.

The outcomes of this workshop include knowledge of
ÌýÌý Ìý > Experimental and observational studies
ÌýÌý Ìý > Objectives of statistical analyses
ÌýÌý Ìý > Structural assumptions
ÌýÌý Ìý > Graphical representations
ÌýÌý Ìý > Counterfactual notation

Pre-requisites: Basic knowledge of statistical concepts and terms (eg regression modelling, bias).

Date: Monday February 21, 2022
Time: 1:30PM to 3PM
Location: online via Zoom
Instructor: Prof. David A. Stephens, Department of Mathematics and Statistics.

This workshop is offered for free by the Faculty of Science to the ÎÛÎÛ²ÝÝ®ÊÓƵ community. Due to the limited amount of spots available, if you sign up for a workshop and don't show up, you will not be allowed to attend another workshop this semester.
