MONTREAL – Alessandra Lind-Kenny of Calgary tallied twice, while Ann-Sophie Bettez of Sept-Iles broke a Quebec university women’s hockey scoring record as ÎÛÎÛ²ÝÝ®ÊÓƵ skated to a 5-0 whitewash over Ottawa at McConnell Arena, Saturday.

Bettez’s goal at 16:45 of the opening period proved to be the game-winner. It was her 23rd of the campaign, breaking the Quebec university single-season mark set by Concordia’s Corinne Swirsky in 1999-2000.

It was the 46th consecutive victory over CIS opponents for the Martlets and was also Ottawa’s 19th straight loss to ÎÛÎÛ²ÝÝ®ÊÓƵ, which owns a 33-2-1 record in their last 36 meetings against the Gee-Gees.

ÎÛÎÛ²ÝÝ®ÊÓƵ outshot Ottawa 44-17 as netminder Charline Labonté racked up her eighth shutout of the season and her 51st career whitewash in 108 games overall with the Martlets. Jessika Audet (6-8-0) made 39 saves in a losing cause for the second-place Gee-Gees, who dropped to 7-8-2.

Freshman Marie-Andree Leclerc-Auger of Sherbrooke also added a goal and two helpers for ÎÛÎÛ²ÝÝ®ÊÓƵ, which improved to 17-0 in the Quebec league and will host Syracuse University from the NCAA’s College Hockey America Conference on Tuesday at McConnell Arena (7 p.m.).
