CIS TOP 10: Hockey women No.1, V-ball ladies No.10
MONTREAL – Two ÎÛÎÛ²ÝÝ®ÊÓƵ sports teams are listed in this week’s CIS
national rankings.
In women’s hockey, the undefeated ÎÛÎÛ²ÝÝ®ÊÓƵ Martlets improved to 18-2
overall, including a 7-0 record in league play, and are ranked No.
1 for the 21st consecutive coaches poll, dating back to last
season.
The reigning national champion hockey Martlets skated to a
resounding 9-0 victory over No. 10-Ottawa last Saturday, extending
their win streak against CIS rivals to 33 games, dating back to
their last loss, a 2-1 decision in a post-overtime shootout against
Alberta, Dec. 30, 2007.
In women’s volleyball, the Martlets won their lone contest last
week, sweeping Sherbrooke 3-0, and have remained tied with Regina
for ninth place.
