Tenure-track Faculty Available Position in Physical Oceanography
The Department of Atmospheric and Oceanic Sciences at ÎÛÎÛ²ÝÝ®ÊÓƵ University is seeking outstanding applicants for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position to strengthen its component in physical oceanography. The successful applicant will be expected to develop an active research program, supervise graduate students, and teach a variety of undergraduate and graduate courses. A Ph. D. in physical oceanography or a closely related field is required. It is expected that the successful candidate will pursue research in physical oceanography with a strong modelling and/or observational component. The range of possible research areas is broad and includes large-scale ocean circulation, coastal processes, the ocean mesoscale and submesoscale, ocean-climate interaction, and high-latitude oceanography. The Department of Atmospheric and Oceanic Sciences has strong ties with Mathematics and Statistics, Chemistry, and Earth System Science. Access to high performance computing is available through Compute Canada.
