In a hard fought battle, the Martlets gave all the appearances
of being a very disciplined, well-coached and improved team.
That result, combined with a scoreless tie against Carleton in an
earlier match, improved the team’s record to 1-0-1 in league play,
its best start in recent memory.
ÎÛÎÛ²ÝÝ®ÊÓƵ goalkeeper Shauna Kearns, a third-year management major from
Toronto earned both shutouts on the day.
The victory over Queen's snapped a 36-game winless streak for the
Martlets, who had posted an 0-32-4 record, dating back to a 5-0 win
over Western, Oct. 1, 2005 at Lamport Stadium in Toronto.
ÎÛÎÛ²ÝÝ®ÊÓƵ travels to London, Ont., next weekend to put their two-game
undefeated streak on the line against Guelph, Toronto and
Waterloo.
