Martlets rally, stun Sherbrooke, to tan in Florida
MONTREAL – Jennifer Thomson of Rosemere, Que., scored 19 points
and Kelsey Irwin of Vancouver, B.C., added 15 as ÎÛÎÛ²ÝÝ®ÊÓƵ rallied
from a 23-16 third-set deficit to win 27-25 and sweep Sherbrooke
3-0 in women’s volleyball at Love Competition Hall last
night.
Thomson, a senior power hitter, racked up 17 kills, 10 digs and two
stuff blocks with a 2.47 passing ratio. Irwin, a 6-foot middle
blocker, contributed 10 kills, a pair of aces, three blocks and a
dig.
Sherbrooke dropped to 8-6 and is in the cellar of the four-team
Quebec league, falling six points behind ÎÛÎÛ²ÝÝ®ÊÓƵ.
The second-place Martlets close out the semester with an 11-4
record and have a month off for exams, before heading to
Clearwater, Fla., for a three-game tourney against CIS teams, Dec.
28-31.
