ÎÛÎÛ²ÝÝ®ÊÓƵ rises in Times Higher Education rankings

MONTREAL - A day after claiming the top spot in the country in the Maclean's magazine university rankings, ÎÛÎÛ²ÝÝ®ÊÓƵ University has moved up on the world stage as well, rising to 11th place from 19th in the Times Higher Education rankings for clinical, pre-clinical and health education.
ÎÛÎÛ²ÝÝ®ÊÓƵ followed the University of Oxford, which placed first, and Harvard University, which placed second - signaling that ÎÛÎÛ²ÝÝ®ÊÓƵ continues to earn its reputation as the ivy league school of the north.
Dr. Samuel Benaroya, interim vice-principal of health affairs and interim dean of medicine at ÎÛÎÛ²ÝÝ®ÊÓƵ, said he was pleased the university was recognized internationally for its fine work.
"Shaping the next generation of doctors and scientists is at the heart of all we do at ÎÛÎÛ²ÝÝ®ÊÓƵ's Faculty of medicine and in its community of outstanding teaching hospitals," he said.
ÎÛÎÛ²ÝÝ®ÊÓƵ Principal Heather Munroe-Blum said it was "gratifying to be consistently recognized among the world's best."
