MISQA is back at the Schulich School of Music from August 14-27
MISQA (ÎÛÎÛ²ÝÝ®ÊÓƵ International String Quartet Academy) was founded in 2010 by Mrs. Constance Pathy. Since its inception, Prof. André J. Roy has assumed its leadership as per his position of general & artistic director. Each year, the academy invites the most significant practitioners of the genre to share their experience with and to educate some of the worlds most promising young quartets; four senior quartets and four junior quartets are selected every year. Private lessons, master classes and concerts are all part of the academy during two weeks.
This year, the Borodin Quartet has been invited to give the opening concert on August 14th. The closing concert, on August 27th, will feature the Calidore Quartet with guests Stefan Fehlandt and Vladimir Balshin. The Grands Concerts (senior quartets) will take place on August 18, 19, 25 & 26 in Pollack Hall at 7pm while Les Concerts de la Relève (junior quartets) will be given on August 20 & 27 in Tanna Schulich at 2pm.
