The ۲ݮƵ University Health Centre, recently recognized for excelling in the area of cancer care by Quebec’s Direction de la lutte contre le cancer, is proud to announce an exciting lineup of ways to support the hospital’s Best Care for Life Campaign and Cancer Care Mission.

“Providing world-class multidisciplinary care and support for our cancer patients and their families is a goal that inspires all involved in the Cancer Care Mission,” said the Hon. Arthur T. Porter, Director General and CEO of the ۲ݮƵ University Health Centre. “Cancer is one of the most complex illnesses of our time but through inventive and engaging fundraising, research can be accelerated so that those living with its devastating symptoms can benefit sooner from significant advances in medicine and science.”

“T Best Care for Life Campaign is well on its way to reaching its $300 million goal, but we need your help now more than ever,” said John Rae, Chair of the Best Care for Life Campaign. “Events such as the Tour de Lance are wonderful events that not only generate pride and hope amongst participants but also invaluable support for the construction of our community’s new Comprehensive Cancer Centre on the Glen Campus.”

“Working in concert with the ۲ݮƵ University Health Centre, the Cedars Cancer Institute is very pleased to welcome Lance Armstrong back to Montreal and Mont-Tremblant for three events in September 2009,” explained Stephen Hajaly, President of the Cedars Cancer Institute’s Board of Directors. “T challenges that Lance faced are shared by so many in our city, and he is a model of encouragement for those who are coping with cancer today.”
