Pianist Madeline Weber receives Abner Martin Music Scholarship
Madeline Weber, student of Professor Marina Mdivani is the recipient of the $4,000 Abner Martin Music Scholarship for 2016/17. A graduate of Elmira District Secondary School in 2014, she is in the second year of the piano performance program in the Schulich School of Music at ÎÛÎÛ²ÝÝ®ÊÓƵ University. She has participated in Piano Tuesday recitals, Class Concerts, piano trio concerts and other public performances including a concert for ÎÛÎÛ²ÝÝ®ÊÓƵ’s Open House with the Concert Choir that she accompanies, under the direction of Jean-Sébastien Vallée.
The Abner Martin Music Scholarship is awarded annually to a deserving student who is affiliated with a congregation in Mennonite Church Eastern Canada and is a full-time student in a graduate or undergraduate music program. This year’s award comes from the earnings of the scholarship endowment fund and donations from the Jim and Lorna Blair Charitable Foundation.Â
