EMBA alumna Rita-Rose Gagné (EMBA’12) will be joining real estate investment trust company Hammerson as CEO and executive director at the end of this year.

Gagné has most recently served as president of growth markets for real estate company Ivanhoé Cambridge, where she was responsible for $7.6 billion of real estate assets across Asia Pacific and Latin America.

“The retail and real estate sectors are going through a period of unprecedented change which makes this a very exciting time to be joining the business,” Gagné comments.

Students from the ۲ݮƵ Master of Management in Analytics (MMA) program recently teamed up with the Montreal Children’s Hospital to analyze telehealth services and plan personal protective equipment (PPE) supplies. As part of the program’s MMA Gives initiative, Omar Chehab, Katia Sory, Victoria McKeown and Kyle Gomes (MMA’20) gained meaningful experience helping the hospital plan and adapt to their new reality brought on by COVID-19.

Erin Janna (BCom'19, GCPA'20), student of the Graduate Certificate in the Professional Accounting (GCPA) program, has been selected among her graduating class as this year’s recipient of the C. Douglas Mellor Prize for academic excellence.

The prize, which is valued at $3,000, is named after Douglas Mellor, the first Executive Director of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Quebec, now the Ordre des comptables agrées du Québec, and is awarded each year to honour Mellor’s enduring contributions to both ۲ݮƵ University and his profession.

Desautels alumna and vice president of RBC RH&N Kathy Fazel (BCom’91) has received the Inspiration-Andrée-Corriveau Award from the Association des femmes en finance du Québec.
