Biography: 

Luis Miranda-Moreno is an Associate Professor at the Department of Civil Engineering at ۲ݮƵ University since 2008. His scientific and professional contributions over more than 15 years have been mostly in the areas of sustainable urban mobility and road safety. His areas of research and expertise include emission modeling methods, the impact assessment of built environment and road design strategies on climate and road injuries, the strategies to promote non-motorized urban mobility and the integration of emerging technological solutions. He has worked on many projects for organization and transportation agencies at different levels. This includes international organizations such as the Inter-American Development Bank and WRI Ross Center for Sustainable Cities as well as federal agencies such as Transport Canada, Transportation Association of Canada, National Road Cooperative Research Program (NCHRP) and Mexico Communication and Transportation Ministry. He also has various projects with provincial governments such as Quebec Ministry of Transportation, Hydro-Quebec, Ontario Ministry of Transportation, Quebec Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources. He has been involved in projects for large cities around the world such as Montreal, Toronto, New York, Mexico, Sao Paulo, and Bogota. His research activities are currently supported by the major research funding federal/provincial agencies such as NSERC, CFI, Mitacs, FQRNT and FQRSC. He is currently leading the IMaTS Lab (www.mcgill.ca/imatslab/) and is also a member of the urban mobility committee of the World Road Association and the road safety committee of the Transportation Association of Canada.
