Research Seminar with Angela Campbell - ÎÛÎÛ²ÝÝ®ÊÓƵ’s Commitment to Equity, Diversity, & Inclusion (EDI): Implications for Research on Children and Families
Over the last five years, ÎÛÎÛ²ÝÝ®ÊÓƵ has made robust commitments to the advancement of equity, diversity, and inclusion (EDI), understanding EDI as crucial to the advancement of academic excellence and the University’s academic mission. While many EDI initiatives are centred on institutional decisions that promote access to and success within ÎÛÎÛ²ÝÝ®ÊÓƵ for students, faculty, and staff, bringing an EDI lens to research is also critical to realizing our institutional commitments in this domain. This session will explore EDI principles and best practices, as well as ÎÛÎÛ²ÝÝ®ÊÓƵ’s commitments to EDI. It will then examine how these principles, best practices, and commitments can be applied to research with children and families. Participants will be invited to engage actively with questions about whether and how a deepened commitment to EDI can be brought to the CRCF’s work, and what opportunities and challenges might present through such efforts.
