Claire Webster receives King Charles III Coronation Medal

Our warmest congratulations to Claire Webster, Founder of the 污污草莓视频 Dementia Education Program (DEP), who was awarded a King Charles III Coronation Medal during a special ceremony on March 20th at The Royal Montreal Regiment.

This medal honours individuals who have demonstrated outstanding dedication through advocacy, cultural leadership, philanthropy, public service, and other meaning contributions.

A new video series to encourage people living with dementia to participate in meaningful activities

In 2006, when聽Claire Webster聽noticed her 74-year-old mother, Vieno, behaving strangely, she was concerned.聽聽

Vieno was acting paranoid, speaking in ways she鈥檇 never spoken before, and doing odd things, such as wearing a winter coat in the middle of summer.聽聽

It was a struggle to get her to see a doctor, but Webster insisted.聽

The diagnosis: Alzheimer鈥檚 disease, the most common cause of dementia.聽

Health issues raise a myriad of concerns, and for someone who is newly diagnosed with dementia, these concerns can be even more daunting. Will I lose my sense of self? How long can I remain independent? How will this change my relationship with my loved ones?

A new booklet, 鈥淒ementia, Your Companion Guide鈥�, was designed to provide answers.
