The White Coat Ceremony normally marks the transition of third year students from the classroom to the clinic, as they receive their official white coats from their fourth year peers. It is one of the most important events in our students' passage through ÎÛÎÛ²ÝÝ®ÊÓƵ, and remains our most cherished ceremony. After a hiatus in 2020 due to pandemic restrictions, a shortened event took place in 2021 for what was then the fourth year students. The 2022 ceremony brought back parents and family members in person to celebrate with students, and completes the "catch up" for returning to the regular scheduled ceremony for third year students.Ìý

Highlights from this year's ceremony include speeches from Dean Emami and Associate Dean Abi-Nader, DMD class presidents Albert Le and Ashish Nair, in addition to words from guest speaker and alumnus Dr. Hassan Moghadam, Chief of Dentistry/Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the Montfort Hospital in Ottawa. The ceremony was also an occasion to celebrate the success of our students, and recognize their dedication to dentistry with various awards for student excellence. "Remember the ones that have gone before you, who paved the way for your success, and the tremendous asset you will be to the community you will serve. I ask you to wear your white coat with pride and a sense of responsibility", noted Dean Emami.Ìý
