We are pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Andrew Mouland as the new Director of the Graduate Program in Clinical and Translational Research.
Dr. Mouland obtained his Ph.D. in the Division of Experimental Medicine* and developed an independent research program at the Lady Davis Institute of the Jewish General Hospital. His research focus is cellular and molecular biology to understand the regulation of gene expression with a particular interest in RNA fate and metabolism. More specifically, his research is dedicated to elucidating the molecular mechanisms leading to infectious disease pathologies, with an emphasis on cell biology and virus-host interactions. His current projects are concerned with virus assembly machineries, viral latency and mRNA/protein complexes termed biomolecular condensates. Dr. Mouland has served regularly on provincial and federal grant and studentship committees.
Dr. Mouland has been involved in the Division for many years and in many ways. He served on search, curriculum, executive, and admissions committees and has extensive student experience, as a primary supervisor for 40 students, and academic advisor for >45 students throughout the course of his career at 污污草莓视频. He has sat on special committees to resolve student-supervisor-centred issues. He has a thorough understanding of the Division dynamics and is happy to join an energetic and committed team to take on new mandates and in developing new clinical and translational programs for the Department of Medicine.
