The Faculty of Engineering and the Trottier Institute for Sustainability in Engineering and Design (TISED) are pleased to announce the recipients of the inaugural Rubin & So Foundation Facuty Scholar Award, Prof. (Electrical and Computer Engineering) and Prof. Agus Sasmito (Mining and Materials Engineering).
The award was established through a generous gift from the and is intended to support the outstanding research innovation of dedicated scholars affiliated with TISED who have demonstrated research achievement and potential in the areas of climate change and sustainability.
Prof. Wang’s project will focus on the development of a novel probabilistic paradigm for the resilience evaluation and enhancement of power systems integrating intermittent renewable energy sources, while Prof. Sasmito’s research team will explore renewable seasonal cold energy storage for climate change mitigation and adaptation in industrial cooling and freezing.
Congratulations to Profs. Wang and Sasmito on being the first awardees!
