Zachary WINCHCOMBE
Zachary Winchcombe is a doctoral candidate in the Department of English at ÎÛÎÛ²ÝÝ®ÊÓƵ University. His research challenges discourses of legitimization in Anglo-American comics studies by examining them within a global context, arguing that discourses in manga studies, often founded on socio-political approaches, offer a productive alternative to discourses of legitimization. His work on the transnational distribution and intercultural adaptation of 'gekiga' is forthcoming in the International Journal of Comic Art (IJOCA).
