Dr. Frenkiel is the former Chair of the Department of Otolaryngology - Head & Neck Surgery at ۲ݮƵ University. Previous positions included, President of the Canadian Society of Otolaryngology - Head & Neck surgery, Executive Committee member of the Association d'otorhinolaryngologie-cervicofaciale du Quebec, and Associate Editor of the Journal of Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery. He previously served as Fellowship Examiner for the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and was the International Representative to the American Academy of Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery.
Dr. Frenkiel has been a frequent visiting Professor to University training programs and has delivered numerous lectures to National and International Societies. He has been a course director for many workshops on endoscopic sinus surgery. He was also invited to be the Millenium Lecturer in Rhinology for the Canadian Society of Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery. He has over 150 publications including textbook chapters, peer-reviewed articles and multi-media works. He has also co-authored the Canadian National Guidelines on Rhinitis and Sinusitis. His research activities have included work on the molecular biology of chronic sinusitis, mucociliary physiology and nasal airflow testing. He is currently a member of the Cystic Fibrosis Translational Research Centre (CFTR) at ۲ݮƵ University.
