Dear SPGH Community,

We would like to update you on a change in leadership within the ÎÛÎÛ²ÝÝ®ÊÓƵ Global Health Programs (GHP) office. Dr. Charles Larson, who has served as Director of GHP since his appointment in July 2020, has concluded his term. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Larson for his unwavering dedication and significant contributions to advancing global health initiatives at ÎÛÎÛ²ÝÝ®ÊÓƵ University and beyond during his tenure with GHP.

Dr. Larson's leadership was instrumental in steering GHP through the travails of the pandemic. He contributed significantly towards shaping the School’s strategic vision, including taking a lead in establishing the Department of Global and Public Health, under which GHP now operates.

Dr. Madhukar Pai, in his capacity as the inaugural Chair of the Department of Global and Public Health, will assume leadership of GHP in the immediate term, until he appoints a GHP Program Director.

Dr. Larson continues to actively teach and contribute to the ÎÛÎÛ²ÝÝ®ÊÓƵ academic community as an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Epidemiology, Biostatistics, and Occupational Health and an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Global and Public Health, among other initiatives.

We invite the SPGH community to join us in expressing our thanks to Dr. Larson for his outstanding leadership of GHP, to the new Department of Global and Public Health and to the School of Population and Global Health.

We look forward to the continued excellence and growth of GHP as a core program of the Department of Global and Public Health.

Nous voulons vous informer d’un changement au sein de la direction des programmes de santé mondiale (PSM). Dr Charles Larson, qui a servi en tant que directeur des programmes de santé mondiale depuis sa nomination en juillet 2020, a achevé son mandat. Nous lui sommes reconnaissants de son inlassable dévouement et de ses contributions significatives pour l’avancement des initiatives en santé mondiale pendant son mandat, à ÎÛÎÛ²ÝÝ®ÊÓƵ et au-delà de ÎÛÎÛ²ÝÝ®ÊÓƵ.

Le leadership de Dr Larson fut essentiel pour guider les programmes de santé mondiale hors des difficultés liées à la pandémie.

Dr Larson a contribué de manière significative à l’élaboration de la vision stratégique de l’École, incluant l’établissement du département de santé mondiale et publique, sous l’égide duquel opèrent maintenant les programmes de santé mondiale.

En tant que premier directeur du département de santé mondiale et publique, Dr Madhukar Pai assurera l’intérim de la direction du PSM jusqu’à ce qu’un nouveau directeur de programme soit nommé.

Dr Larson continue activement à enseigner et à contribuer à la communauté académique de ÎÛÎÛ²ÝÝ®ÊÓƵ en tant que professeur adjoint dans les départements d’épidémiologie, biostatistiques et santé au travail et de santé mondiale et publique, entre autres initiatives.
