For the 2025 edition, finalists must compose an original work for a 6-person mixed chamber ensemble (C flute, B-flat clarinet, violin, cello, piano, and vibraphone). The GSC has engaged to premiere the finalists’ works in the gala concert where each of the composers will be awarded cash prizes ranging from $6,000 - $18,000, and one finalist will receive an additional $6,000 People’s Choice Award.
The GSC jury will be made up of two Canadian composers, one international composer, a distinguished member of the musical community, an internationally recognized performer, and a member of the concert-going public with a passion for musical creation.
