MUNACA/PSAC Bargaining Unit Update
Following the MUNACA drive which resulted in a new MUNACA bargaining unit, the Union filed a claim with the Tribunal Administrative du Travail (TAT) that the expired MUNACA Collective Agreement, which had applied to the prior bargaining unit, should apply to employees now part of the new bargaining unit as of August 2, 2019, the date of the TAT’s decision.
On January 22, 2020, both parties presented their arguments in front of the TAT. On January 28, 2020, the TAT rendered a decision confirming that the respective working conditions that applied prior to August 2, 2019, must be maintained until the signing of a first collective agreement between ÎÛÎÛ²ÝÝ®ÊÓƵ and the new MUNACA bargaining unit.
This update serves to confirm that, as previously communicated:Â M1 employees who recently became part of the new MUNACA bargaining unit continue to be covered by the personnel policies for non-unionized non-academic staff until a new collective agreement comes into effect.
We will continue to keep you informed as the negotiation talks with MUNACA are undertaken.
