Contact tracing apps are designed to track the spread of COVID-19, but have raised serious privacy concerns and questions surrounding intrusive data collection.

In this panel organized by the ÎÛÎÛ²ÝÝ®ÊÓƵ International Law Society, four human rights and technology experts will discuss COVID-19 contact tracing apps in relation to a range of human rights issues, including legal and policy implications.

  • Dr. Ann Cavoukian, creator of Privacy by Design, and former Information & Privacy Commissioner of Ontario
  • Estelle Massé, Senior Policy Analyst and Global Data Protection Lead at Access Now
  • Irene Poetranto, Senior Researcher at the Citizen Lab, and doctoral candidate at the University of Toronto’s Department of Political Science
