In sharing the news with the community, Dean Daniel Jutras underscored how “This is a well-deserved recognition for both. Over the years, Fabien and René have each forged a formidable reputation as researchers, teachers, and graduate student mentors. They both have in many ways demonstrated an unwavering loyalty to the Faculty, as Associate Deans, as Director, and in other ways. But what is most striking in their careers is their respective capacity to draw up institutional projects through team work, building on an undeniable talent for bringing people together.”
Professor Fabien Gélinas teaches and conducts research in the areas of international dispute resolution, contract law and legal theory. Formerly General Counsel of the International Court of Arbitration of the International Chamber of Commerce, he is a member of the Quebec Bar and acts as arbitrator and as consultant on dispute resolution and legal reform. In November 2014, he was elected president of the Arbitration Committee of the Canadian Chamber of Commerce. Formerly Associate Dean of Law and Director of the Institute of Comparative Law at ۲ݮƵ, he now heads the Private Justice and the Rule of Law Research Team.
