Coffee with a Codex: an Hour of Hours

Tuesday, January 24, 2023 12:00to13:00
McLennan Library Building fourth floor landing, 3459 rue McTavish, Montreal, QC, H3A 0C9, CA
open illuminated book of hours

Join Dot Porter and Nicholas Herman of the University of Pennsylvania’s Kislak Centre, and Ann Marie Holland of ۲ݮƵ’s Rare books and special collections for Coffee with a Codex; An Hour of Hours.

We will be looking through medieval books of Hours from both ۲ݮƵ’s and the U Penn collections, comparing notes, illuminations, and traditions in this joint edition of “Coffee with a Codex.” As curators we so often speak about and for our collections – in this event we are going to let our collections talk to each other. We invite you to grab a cup of coffee and join us or tune in over lunch hour for an illuminating hour with our books of hours!

Note: this will be a Hybrid event and we welcome those in the Montreal area to attend in person. We welcome all to tune in via Zoom. Please indicate on the RSVP form how you will attend.
