10 Ways YOU Can Support a Healthy Workplace

  1. During a team meeting, invite team members to reflect upon what a Healthy Workplace looks like to them and what you can do concretely to move closer towards one.
  2. Give your time to support others. Be present for a colleague who may appreciate someone rolling up their sleeves to give a hand. Consider becoming a Healthy Workplace Ambassador or joining a MHW Learning Community activity where you can help shape our workplace. Volunteer in our larger Montreal community addressing what matters most to you.
  3. Dare to ask yourselves what tasks you could stop doing or do differently. Get input from people who have a vested interest in what you do (supervisor, key clients, etc.). Needs evolve and we often don’t stop to determine how to lighten the load. can help streamline.
  4. Appreciate differences on your team and be inclusive. Seek different perspectives and truly listen to what others are sharing. Help team members build on each other’s ideas.
  5. Encourage others to pursue their wellness commitments whether it involves the gym, knitting, gardening, volunteering or music.Ìý
  6. When you receive positive feedback from a colleague or client, record it and save it for a rainy day. Remember to share it with your supervisor too. Revisit your file every so often to remember that what you do matters.

  8. Keep Learning: individually and as a team, via workshops, job shadowing, coaching/mentoring, webinars, volunteer service, reading, etc.
  9. Take the time to eat, reflect and play together. Some teams do regular retreats, host social events, take time out for celebrations.
