This lecture for health professionals aims to raise awareness and provide basic information about Alzheimer’s and other dementia-related diseases.ÌýÌý

During this presentation, Dr. Serge Gauthier, Professor Emeritus in the Department of Neurology & Neurosurgery and the Department of Psychiatry at ÎÛÎÛ²ÝÝ®ÊÓƵ University, will provide information on the different types of neurocognitive disorders. He will discuss the associated behavioural and psychological symptoms that manifest as the disease progresses, and explain how these may differ from typical aging concerns.Ìý

Next, Mrs. Claire Webster, former caregiver and Founder of the ÎÛÎÛ²ÝÝ®ÊÓƵ Dementia Education Program, will share practical advice on how to care for a person living with dementia. She will discuss important considerations to ensure the safety and well-being of both the individual as well as the care partner to help families understand and access the resources needed to navigate this disease.Ìý

A question-and-answer period will take place after the lecture.Ìý
