The Centre of Excellence in Epilepsy at The Neuro (Montreal Neurological Institute-Hospital) is proud to announce the new Epilepsy Lecture Series. The series will include eight lectures per year covering hot topics in basic and clinical epilepsy research. Topics will be presented by distinguished leaders and rising stars in the field, with the goal of bridging basic and clinical perspectives.Ìý

Speaker bio:Ìý

Dr. Sydney Cash, MD, PhD is Associate Professor of Neurology at Harvard Medical School and attending epileptologist at Massachusetts General Hospital. Dr. Cash is co-director of the Clinical Data Animation Center and the Center for Neurotechnology and Neurorecovery as well as Director for Research in the Partners Neurology Residency Program. He received his BS in Biology from Yale College before going on to pursue an MD/PhD at Columbia University in New York. Internship and residency were done in Partners Neurology program (Massachusetts General Hospital and Brigham and Women’s Hospital) where he was selected as chief resident. This was followed by a fellowship in epilepsy at Massachusetts General Hospital. After fellowship Dr. Cash established a laboratory at Massachusetts General Hospital / Harvard Medical School which studies the mechanisms underlying epilepsy as well as normal cognition.
