Nurse practitioner concentrations receive full accreditation

Following site visits by the Ordre des infirmières et infirmiers du Québec, four Nurse Practitioner program concentrations received full accreditation.

The Ingram School of Nursing (ISoN) is pleased to announce that four Nurse Practitioner concentrations—Adult Care, Mental Health, Pediatrics, and Neonatal—received full 5-year ‘accreditation’ following their visites d’examen from the Ordre des infirmières et infirmiers du Québec (OIIQ) during the 2023-2024 academic year.

Specifically, the accreditors highlighted the programs’ strong clinical-academic partnership, solid pedagogy, and commitment to continuous quality improvement.

This achievement was made possible thanks to the collective efforts of past and present NP faculty and staff, particularly our concentration leads: Shannon McNamara, Sheena Heslip and Don Doell (Adult Care), Pina LaRiccia, Melanie-Anne Lalonde and Trent Semeniuk (Mental Health), Philippe Lamer (Neonatal), and Joshua Gurberg (Pediatrics) as well as the NP Program Director and Interim Pediatric lead Irene Sarasua.

We express gratitude to our students and clinical partners for their active engagement in the evaluations, to our Academic Associate Rosanna Zappavigna, who skillfully led the process, to Administrative Coordinator Maya Bechara and to the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences accreditation team, who provided invaluable guidance and support.
