Ludmer, Energy Supply & Optimization

Project Description:

The Irving Ludmer Building project consists in upgrading the energy supply and optimizing them. This work includes the conversion of all heating systems to low-temperature hot water. Installation of electric boilers to produce low-temperature hot water, fresh air preheating, and other related works.Ìý

Preliminary scope of Work:

  • Conversion of all heating systems (heat exchangers, coils, etc.) to low-temperature hot water. Note: most systems have already been converted;
  • Installation of electric boiler(s) to produce low-temperature hot water (for perimeter heating, fresh air pre-heating, ventilation air heating, and terminal re-heat);
  • Installation of electric steam generator(s) for sterilization purposes (cage washers and autoclaves) and for humidification purposes (directhumidification). Note: a natural gas-fired humidifier could be acceptable if it helps reduce peak demand while meeting the 80% renewable requirement;
  • Increasing the capacity of electrical entrance and associated electrical equipment (transformers, etc.)
