Project Scope:

This project will replace the existing 500kw emergency generator with a surplus 1500kw generator from the downtown campus.

The ۲ݮƵ Powerhouse, also known as The Ferrier Annex, is a translucent building that houses generators that would aliment campus operations in the event of power failure. It is located at the foot of the Mount Royal close to the McTavish Reservoir, and to the pedestrian green belt known as “la Coulée verte”.
An additional new generator will also be purchased to fulfill the current and future needs of the campus. We will be decommissioning the existing generator at the South Powerhouse, as well as the smaller ones located at CINE, Laird and Parasitology. The new generator will be located near the North Powerhouse and will require new infrastructure including the burying the new lines. The aging electrical panels and transfer switches within the buildings will also be replaced.
