The biggest black holes in the Universe
Join us for our next public lecture on March 31st at 7pm, with Prof. Julie Hlavacek-Larrondo from l’Université de Montréal to learn about the largest black holes in the universe!
Don’t be fooled by the name, black holes are not just empty space; they’re the most powerful and extreme objects in the universe! In fact, they’re so powerful that nothing, not even light, can escape them. Filled with an incredible energy, they can destroy entire galaxies quickly and easily. Prof. Julie Hlavacek-Larrondo’s work focuses on the largest black holes in the universe, the titans among giants. These monsters are the most powerful and are all but silent. Throughout this lecture, she will inform you of the most recent discoveries about these objects, showing how extreme (and mysterious) the universe can be!
