Join the ÎÛÎÛ²ÝÝ®ÊÓƵ School of Population and Global Health Equity, Diversity, Inclusion and Anti-Racism (EDI-AR) standing committee in honouring Queer History Month on October 20th at 3:00 p.m. with a film screening of "My Name Was January" followed by a critical and reflexive discussion. The event will be hosted at 2001 ÎÛÎÛ²ÝÝ®ÊÓƵ College Ave, room 1140, and food will be served.
Film summary: When a trans sister, January Marie Lapuz, is brutally murdered in her own home in New Westminster, BC, her community reacts and her friends and other transwomen of colour come to share and voice their issues, concerns, and challenges.
