Overview

Translation : Translation policy in unilingual, bilingual and multilingual states, as well as supranational organizations. Study of the concept of translation policy and its applications in selected case studies in legal contexts. Analysis of the effects of translation policy on access to government services and legal proceedings, as well as the emergence of a right to translation and interpreting in jurisprudence.

  • Restrictions: Open only to students in the Graduate Certificate in Legal Translation or by Departmental Approval.

  • This is a bilingual course.

  • Early opening registration date for CS courses only

  • **Due to the intensive nature of this course, the standard add/drop and withdrawal deadlines do not apply. Add/drop is the second lecture day and withdrawal is the fourth lecture day.
