Environment and Development

Overview

In order to develop sustainable paths to economic development, we need to find common ground between the disciplines of environmental studies and economics.

In the Environment and Development Domain, open to students in the BA Environment program, you will learn about current theories, concepts, and approaches to the environment and development. With a strong knowledge in economics, development, and the earth sciences, you can tackle some of the most pressing environmental and economic issues at home and across the world.

The Environment and Development Domain will prepare you for graduate study in interdisciplinary programs like development studies and environmental studies, as well as in integrative social sciences like anthropology and geography.

Careers

The Domain’s interdisciplinary approach to understanding the relationship between the environment and development means graduates will be well-equipped for careers in a variety of fields. Some potential career paths include:

  • Environmental Lawyer
  • Sustainability Consultant
