Faculty Program in Music

Overview

The Faculty Program in Music is designed for students who are interested in a pattern of specialization not provided in the established major programs, or who are interested in combining studies in music with studies in other disciplines.

After taking required courses in music theory and history, performance, musicianship, and professional training, you can tailor your degree to your specific skills and interests. With the approval of a staff adviser, you can design your own program around specific interests or develop programs with a broader base by incorporating courses from other disciplines and faculties.

Careers

Given the broad and personalized nature of the Faculty Program, you can go on to pursue a wide range of careers after graduation. No matter what path you choose, you will benefit from required music courses that will provide you with theoretical, practical and professional training.

You can become a professional:

  • Music journalist
  • Performer
  • Music theorist
  • Conductor
  • Composer
