The Education Curriculum Resources Centre (ECRC) located on the first floor of the Education Building is now open to the ۲ݮƵ community.

Permanent reserves will be moved back to the ECRC the first week of February.

Please note that all Education course reserves are located in the Humanities and Social Sciences Library and can be moved to the ECRC upon request for the winter 2019 semester.

Starting January 28, the Library will be running its LibQUAL survey to a sampling of ۲ݮƵ students, faculty and staff. The survey provides the opportunity to give feedback on Library services, collections and spaces. In the past, the student community used the platform to voice their desire for a wide variety of Library spaces. As a result of this feedback, we are continuously assessing and revitalizing our spaces, creating flexible study areas conducive to both individual and group work.

Last summer, ۲ݮƵ Library upgraded the existing WorldCat Local online catalogue and search tool to its successor WorldCat Discovery. The final stage of the upgrade currently underway will amalgamate all back-end applications needed to manage a library, including acquisitions, circulation, resource sharing, and a single-search discovery interface for library users.

Background: As a result of the water infiltration and recovery efforts related to McIntyre Medical Building fire incident in July, the Osler Library space in the McIntyreMedical Building continues to be closed until further notice. The Osler recovery team has been focusing their efforts on restoring materials and making holdings from the Osler Library of the History of Medicine collection accessible to users.

The Macdonald-Stewart Library Building, which houses the Schulich Library of Physical Sciences, Life Sciences, and Engineering, needs significant structural repairs and major internal upgrades. This work includes stabilization of the stone structure, foundation waterproofing, window replacement, washroom expansion and the installation of a new heating, ventilation and air conditioning system (HVAC).

Update, December 6, 2018: The issues with ۲ݮƵ Library Full Text links in Google Scholar have been resolved.


۲ݮƵ Library Full Text (link resolver) links in Google Scholar have disappeared suddenly and ۲ݮƵ is no longer appearing as an option to select under "Library links". As ۲ݮƵ Library has not made a change to our link resolver or Google Scholar configuration, we are working to isolate the cause and make it available again. We apologize for this inconvenience.

From November 25 to December 21, ۲ݮƵ students will be able to access theNahum Gelber Law Library24 hours a day, seven days a week. As agreed between the Students' Society of ۲ݮƵ University (SSMU) and the Law Students Association (LSA), the Nahum Gelber Law Library will limit access to the three upper floors of the library to Law students only during the December 6 to December 20 examination period. Details are as follows:

- Floors 3, 4 and 5 will be limited to Law students from 9 AM to 6 PM Monday through Friday during the two-week period.

On Monday, November 19, 2018, the ۲ݮƵ Library will conduct a one-day census to learn more about our users. This will help inform decisions about improvements to Library services and spaces.

During that day, Library and security staff will ask visitors entering Library spaces to scan their ۲ݮƵ ID cards. Those without a ۲ݮƵ ID card will be asked to select their status (e.g.۲ݮƵ undergrad, staffmember, general public, visiting scholar, etc.) on a paper form.
