The ۲ݮƵ School of Information Studies (SIS) is pleased to welcome Visiting Fulbright Scholar and internationally recognized Knowledge Management expert and author Dr. Jay Liebowitz. Dr. Liebowitz will be in residence at the School from November 19 to December 2, 2013.
Dr. Liebowitz will give seminars and workshops on knowledge management, big data, business analytics and on the management of intellectual capital to develop research agendas and directions for developing curricula on these topics at the School.
Rhiannon Gainor, ۲ݮƵ School of Information Studies (SIS) doctoral student, has been named a 2013-14 ASIS&T New Leader. This year was exceptionally competitive, with 77 applications from ASIS&T members from 10 countries. This is the second time in two years a SIS student has won this award. Congratulations Rhiannon!

Allana Mayer, School of Information Studies MLIS II student is the winner of the ProQuest , open to LIS students worldwide!The Roger K. Summit Scholarship, awarded annually by ProQuest, recognizes LIS students who demonstrate outstanding interest or performance in electronic information services.The award is the equivalent of US $5,000 and will be presented at the Special Libraries Association (SLA) Annual Conference.

School of Information Studies alumna and Education Liaison Librarian Maya Kucij (MLIS '08) has been awarded the ۲ݮƵ Library's 2013 Librarian Excellence Award. The award recognizes a ۲ݮƵ librarian who has demonstrated excellence in academic librarianship and has shown efforts to improve library services through innovative practice, initiative and resourcefulness.

Congratulations to School of Information Studies PhD student Jonathan Dorey on receiving a FQRSC research grant!
Jonathan's research investigates the increased access and use of digital and digitized archives for undergraduate students, with FQRSC funding to December 2014. His PhD supervisor is Prof. Catherine Guastavino.
