Research Project:
The scope of my research is to develop a solar thermophotovoltaic (STPV) device. STPV is an emerging technology with an incredible potential to efficiently convert solar radiation to useful energy. An intermediate material is heated by concentrated sunlight, and radiates its thermal energy towards a photovoltaic (PV) cell. Similar to PV, STPV is a standalone device that produces electricity from solar energy. Its development is important because unlike PV, this technology can make use of the entire solar spectrum and therefore more efficiently harness its energy.
