IMHL alumnus leads project to install 900 defibrillators in Quebec
Each year, about 10,000 people in Quebec suffer a cardiac arrest, and receiving resuscitation care in the first minutes is critical to survival. For every minute that passes without treatment, survival rates decrease by 7-10%.ÌýDr. François de ChamplainÌý(±õ²Ñ±á³¢â€™2021)Ìýlost his father to aÌýsuddenÌýcardiacÌýdeathÌýand wantsÌýto improve public access and use of automated external defibrillators (AEDs)Ìýin Quebec. International Masters for Health Leadership
Beyond the Masters of Management degree, theÌýInternational Masters for Health Leadership (IMHL)Ìýprogram is designed for experienced working professionals in all areas of healthcare, including clinicians and senior managers from different health sectors.ÌýOur participants come from all regions of the world and from various organizations (hospitals, community care, public health, government, pharma and more).
WhyÌýDr. François de ChamplainÌýchose the IMHL program:Ìý
"When I decided to enrol into the IMHL program, my purpose was to learn from excellent Faculty but also from other students around the world to challenge my views and concepts in healthcare and management. In the end, I got much more than that, and the program allowed me to reflect and evolve as a leader and as an advocate, which I believe has played a role in the success of our non-profit organization dedicated to improving survival for out-of-hospital cardiac arrest in Quebec. I couldn't be more appreciative for the lessons learned during this Masters program, which continues to serve me daily."
