The aim of the MA Educational Psychology, Learning Sciences concentration (thesis) is to produce graduates who:
- Are broadly trained in educational psychology
- Have sufficient research competence to critically evaluate research in educational psychology, and to design, conduct and report empirical research
- Have experience in applying research methods and findings to the solution of practical problems in varied educational settings
The MA in Educational Psychology (thesis) program is also available in two other concentrations: Health Professions EducationÌý²¹²Ô»åÌýHuman Development.
Admission Requirements |
Academic background & CGPAApplicants to the MA in Educational Psychology program in Learning Sciences must have an undergraduate degree in Education, Psychology, or another field relevant to the proposed studies in Educational Psychology. It is recommended that some prior study of a relevant branch of Psychology form part of the undergraduate training. CGPA: A minimum CGPA of 3.0 out of 4.0 in undergraduate studies is expected. Please be aware that a CGPA of 3.0 is a minimum requirement only and does not guarantee acceptance. |
International studentsCGPA Equivalency Proficiency in English Appropriate exam results must be submitted prior to the application deadline and submitted directly from the language testing proficiency office to ÎÛÎÛ²ÝÝ®ÊÓƵ. For more information on test requirements, submission of scores, and possible exemptions, visit the ÎÛÎÛ²ÝÝ®ÊÓƵ Future Graduate Students English Language Proficiency page. In each case, you must ensure that the official test results are sent directly to ÎÛÎÛ²ÝÝ®ÊÓƵ (ÎÛÎÛ²ÝÝ®ÊÓƵ Institution Code: 0935) by the testing service. Applications will not be considered if test results are not available. Applicants whose mother tongue is not English may be asked to demonstrate an English-language proficiency beyond the submission of the language proficiency test scores. |
Applying |
We will be accepting applications for our Graduate Programs starting on September 15th for the following Fall Admission term. Applications are submitted using Slate, ÎÛÎÛ²ÝÝ®ÊÓƵ's online application system. The deadline for applications is December 1 (annually) for Fall admission. Please read the program’s admission requirements fully. The Department no longer accepts deferrals except under extraordinary circumstances. |
