The department of Kinesiology and Physical Education has a number of spaces available for teaching, including 2 classrooms (90 m2 each) with a capacity for 100 for students, two smaller rooms for seminars (61 m2, 38.7 m2) and a teaching laboratory (267 m2). The KPE teaching laboratory consists of two teaching spaces, one arranged as a typical classroom setting for lectures with projection of teaching material with a fully automated large screen system, and the other space designed for practical teaching of exercise testing skills with exercise equipment.
In 2015, the teaching lab underwent a complete renovation and exercise testing equipment renewal. This represented a $1.5 million project. In 2016, the Department received an endowed gift from the Tassone family that provides an annual operating budget for the teaching lab, serving to maintain equipment service contracts and replenish small supplies. Now, the Tassone Teaching Lab is used in all theory courses with a laboratory component.
