Recent research from KPE tackles ergonomics, hockey, smoking cessation, cancer, Parkinson's, strokes, spinal cord injury, prehabilitation, rehabilitation and more

Papers published recently by researchers in our Department of Kinesiology and Physical Education (KPE) examine a long list of topical subjectsincluding (but not limited to) ergonomics and biomechanics, hockey players' physiology, smoking cessation;prehabilitation, intervention, rehabilitation and recovery in relation tocancer, bariatric surgery, Parkinson's, strokes, or spinal cord injury;and the relationships between various conditions and physical activity. Details and links for these papers are provided below.

Researchers with KPE produced this work in collaboration with our Research Centre for Physical Activity and Health (PATH), the unique collaboration of interdisciplinary researchers that addressesthe intersection of physical activity and health, located in the Faculty of Education at ۲ݮƵ. PATH membership encompasses a breadth of disciplines, with thirteenprimary membersfrom the Department of Kinesiology and Physical Educationwith research programsin sport psychology, exercise and health psychology, health behaviour change, adapted physical activity,physical education,pulmonary and respiratoryphysiology, muscle physiology, exercise physiology,ergonomics, motor control, biomechanics, and neurorehabilitation. PATH also collaborates with sevenassociate members spanning the Departments of Medicine, Emergency Medicine, Oncology, Psychology, the School of Physical and Occupational Therapy, the Research Institute of the ۲ݮƵ University Health Centre, and the School of Dietetics and Human Nutrition.
