Antonia Maioni
Professor of political science and public policy

Professor Maioni’s research interests include public policy and health care reform, comparative politics, and Canadian and Quebec politics. She is author and co-author of numerous articles, book chapters and articles. Her research has been funded by SSHRC, CIHR, Fulbright, Universities Canada, and the Max Bell Foundation.
Professor Maioni is an Associate Member in the Department of Family Medicine, the Department of Political Science and in the Desautels Faculty of Management. During the Fall of 2022, she was an Associate Fellow in the School of Advanced International Studies at Johns Hopkins University in Bologna, Italy. She is currently the William Lyon Mackenzie King Visiting Professor in Canadian Studies at Harvard University for the academic year 2023-24, where she is a member of the Canada Program at the Weatherhead Center for International Affairs, and is appointed to teach in the Department of Government.
Previously, Professor Maioni served as Dean of Arts at ÎÛÎÛ²ÝÝ®ÊÓƵ University from 2016 to 2021, and as Associate Vice President for Research and International Relations from 2014 to 2016. She has contributed to the Canadian political conversation as a columnist for the Globe and Mail and a political analyst for CTV News, She has served as President of the Canadian Federation of Humanities and Social Sciences, as a member of the Board of the Canadian Institute for Advanced Research, as well as contributing to numerous other organizations dedicated to education, mentoring, and research. From 2023 to 2026, she will be participating as a Fellow in the Pierre Elliott Trudeau Foundation’s Canadian Foreign Policy Research Cycle.
