Tuition and Stipend Support from the Division:

Starting in Fall 2024, the Division will provide $12,000 towards the stipend of Canadian PhD students in Year 1, decreasing the financial burden of their supervisors at the start of their doctoral studies. The stipend support will be disbursed in monthly payments directly to the student’s bank account.

In an effort to assist and alleviate the burden of the high International Tuition Fees, the Division offers a Tuition Support to eligible International PhD students, Out-of-Province MSc students and a limited number of international MSc students. Tuition support is for programs in which students receive a stipend from their supervisor, and is only given in the first 3 terms of the MSc, and up until end of PhD4.

The tuition supplement from the Division will be deposited directly into the student's fee account - half at the start of fall term, and half at the start of winter term. The remainder of the student's tuition will be covered by the supervisor and will be included in the student’s regular stipend payments.

Further information on the Tuition Fee Supplement can be found here (/expmed/funding-and-awards/internal-awards)
