Heritage
Photographing architectural sites and urban environments for research and teaching purposes has long been a tradition for architectural educators at ÎÛÎÛ²ÝÝ®ÊÓƵ. The slide library at the School of Architecture dates back to the 1890s, and it includes many architectural drawings and excerpts from treatises, some taken from books. Peter Collins taught at the School from 1956 to 1981, and during that time developed the collection to include approximately 40,000 images, which he meticulously indexed and labelled. Other faculty members have supplemented the collection with images from their particular fields of interest. These have been used extensively for teaching, although in recent years, faculty members have been relying increasingly on digital images.
