Teaching and Training

1. Infectious Diseases Residency ProgramÌý

ÎÛÎÛ²ÝÝ®ÊÓƵ University offers either a 2-year Infectious Diseases training, or a 3-year combined specialty residency training program in Infectious Diseases and Medical Microbiology, for residents who have completed prior training in Internal Medicine. Both programs are accredited by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. 2. Clinical fellowships (Formation Complementaire)

In addition to the core training program in Infectious Diseases and Medical Microbiology, we offer Clinical Fellowships (1-year program combining clinical training and research) in 4 sub-speciality areas of Infectious Diseases:

  • Transplant ID
  • TB/Non-tuberculous Mycobacterial infections
  • Tropical Medicine
  • Antimicrobial Stewardship
  • Chronic Viral Illnesses

The Division of Infectious Diseases at the MUHC, in partnership with the ÎÛÎÛ²ÝÝ®ÊÓƵ University affiliated teaching sites at the Jewish General Hospital and Saint Mary'sÌýHospital, also oversees training of residents from other programs at ÎÛÎÛ²ÝÝ®ÊÓƵ. The MUHC expertise in transplant, tropical medicine, chronic viral infections, mycology, and mycobacteriology/tuberculosis contribute to the diverse and rich clinical exposure that residents and fellows can expect and which also benefit trainees across Quebec and Canada. We also provide training in infection control and antibiotic stewardship to residents, pharmacists, nurses and public health fellows.

ÎÛÎÛ²ÝÝ®ÊÓƵ University Campus

As a hub of microbiology laboratory testing within the provincial network of laboratories, and being committed to quality laboratory services and cutting edge diagnostics, the MUHC provides an ideal environment for the development of the Infectious Disease specialists and Medical Microbiologists of tomorrow.

Please note that the Division of Infectious Diseases does not offer Clinical Observerships at this time.

There are currently fellowship positions available in Tropical Medicine, Antimicrobial Stewardship, TB/Non-tuberculous Mycobacteria, and Transplant ID.
