Wi-Fi network: Messages on iOS and MacOS devices
Published: 12 July 2023
On July 11th, the security certificate that secures authentication to ÎÛÎÛ²ÝÝ®ÊÓƵ's wpa.mcgill.ca, eduroam, and cusm-muhc.mcgill.ca Wi-Fi networks was renewed. This certificate allows you to sign on to the Wi-Fi network in a secure manner. For Android and most Windows devices, no change was necessary, but most iOS and MacOS devices are displaying a message that prompts users to accept the certificate.
Please follow these instructions to accept the certificate (see attached document for screenshots):
iOS:
- Ensure that the wireless-login.mcgill.ca certificate is issued by Thawte RSA CA 2018.
- If you select more details, you’ll also see that the Issuer should be DigiCert Inc.
