  3. Complete the form below.

Terms of use

The 3D Printing Service is available for use by all members of the ÎÛÎÛ²ÝÝ®ÊÓƵ community, including current students, staff, and faculty members.

Requests will be approved for a maximum of 15 hours at a time and up to 20 hours per week. Special requests for longer prints may be accommodated in rare cases – please contact graeme.langdon [at] mcgill.ca to discuss this.

The 3D Printing Service is intended for learning, experimentation, and small-scale projects. Turnaround times from request to pick-up cannot be guaranteed, and the service should not be relied upon for time-sensitive projects. Turnaround times may fluctuate based on demand and staffing.

Users are responsible for creating their own 3D models. Library staff may perform trivial repairs using automated software processes or make suggestions to increase the likelihood of a successful print, but staff cannot assist in creating or editing designs.

Lawful and ethical use

The 3D printers may only be used for lawful and non-commercial purposes and in compliance with all ÎÛÎÛ²ÝÝ®ÊÓƵ policies and regulations. It is prohibited to 3D print any objects or material components in violation of local, provincial, or federal laws, or in violation of any third party’s intellectual property or proprietary rights. Users may not print obscene, unsafe, harmful, dangerous, or otherwise inappropriate objects or components. Users who violate this regulation will have privileges revoked.

Please note

The 3D Printing Assistants will schedule print jobs to maximize efficient use of printers and ensure equitable access to the service.

Schulich Library staff are not responsible for the quality, durability, or functionality of printed material.

Schulich Library staff are not responsible for lost or stolen print jobs.
